Novels flesh out the events between the two anime to reveal even more of the characters' stories, and there's quite a bit of Kakashi's story that doesn't always make it to the screen. Though Kakashi continues to make an impression in Boruto, for fans who only watch the anime, there's a lot more to know about him.
